7 things you find in a typical Nigerian Village

All Hail Alphasoars . . .

Merry Christmas to you and expecting an Alphasoaring year for everyone. I know most of us have travelled to our different villages for the holidays. Back at the village, the home-feeling is entertaining and most times you'll wish not to return, lols.
Just take your time and explore your village, so when you are expected to return to the city, you will find yourself fulfilled and happy. Some of us, your village might be someone's city. Like you are a native of Port Harcourt, and you are residing at Lagos. PH City becomes your village! You don't agree with that? Lemme mention seven things you find in a typical Nigerian village and if at the end of my list, you can't find about 4 of them in your village, then you aren't from the village.

Ok legooo . . .

1. There is always this uncompleted building at that corner of the village. Tell me if there is no uncompleted building in your village so that I can delist it immediately. Most of us will always ask our elders, 'who owns that building'. The reply you will get will start with a sigh which will be followed with an 'it is a long story' kind of response. Then they start telling fairy-tales about the building and its owner.

2. There is always this abandoned school by the corner of the village that has produced, Presidents, Governors and national leaders of various categories. This school is left unattended. The structure is dilapidated and seriously surviving on life-support system. In this school, you will find the best of teachers who have given up on expecting six figured money to come from anywhere. They have been told that their reward is in heaven. But you will still find them faithful to their jobs - no truancy, no absenteeism.
The government and those it has produced in the years have all become too classy to look at the mould that shaped their future and putting it in a better shape.

Letter: To Whom it May Concern

                                                                                                            No. 1 Google Avenue,
                                                                                                            Alphasoars Street,
                                                                                                            United World, Earth.
                                                                                                            11th December, 2017.

Dear You,

I wish to use this unfailing medium to communicate my frustrations and tell you in clear terms who we are. Firstly, we are a group of person that existed long time ago like your ancestors. We are a group of people that don't necessary rely on your effort to survive. Before I go further to tell you more about us, I want to vent. Why do you think we are parasites? Who gave you the impression that we are saboteurs. Why do you have that awkward believe that we are enemies of progress? Why do you give me reason to believe that you are an ungrateful anatomically modern human.
This is a very short letter of which I have not wished to write above three hundred words. We are a people who have special skills as relates to all human endeavours. You don't believe me, right? I refer you to study this article, since I won't bore you with long talks and history. Read Here!

In the country as I have seen it with my youthful eyes, we are invited into key decision making areas, but we won't be allowed to take the credit. We have been subjected to backyard technocrats that gives advice from the back door and are shut out, immediately.

In every corridor of business around, we have shown our prowess. We have demonstrated our zeal in building an enriching life for ourselves and our unborn generations.
You hate us with incorrigible passion but you like us run your business because you believe we have all it takes to deliver. We are a people that value education as you, but we won't want to engage in an engagement of four years and are easily disappointed with a multiple of that time/year. In a clear term, we won't prefer to enroll in your school for a four year course and are granted the undesirable permission to stay in the four corners of your institution for twelve years.

We are a people that love investing in skill acquisition. We love entrepreneurship to the core. We are self dependent in a great sense.

But I won't conclude this letter without requesting for a response to this bothering question, "Why do you hate us"?
But before you tell me what exactly you want to nag about, just know that your hatred towards us does not remove a string of hair on us. In fact, it has made us more stronger, adaptive and courageous. We rule every part of our world and your world directly or indirectly. Agree or disagree.

We are the Igbo people!

8 Ways to Live Better Than Yesterday

All Hail Alphasoars . . .

Happy new week to you. Hope you had a great weekend and set for another week of activeness and achievement. The month as well ends tomorrow and ushering us into November, the second to the last month.
I wish everyone a flavoured, favoured and fruitful week and happy new month in advance.

Today, I shall within three minutes look at 8 ways one can live a life that is better than what we had yesterday. The views expressed are practical, quit engaging and also simple to indulge in. Every one of us has had some bad days in the past. Maybe yesterday or some other days gone by, but waking up doing the same thing you did then will not make you any better. To get better, you avoid certain things and imbibe certain also.

Let's get to it, Shall we?

Read a good and motivating book
They have always said, information hidden from Africans are be found in a book. I think that saying is true because most of us don't have time to open the covers of any written materials. We are always in a hurry to break new grounds but the needed information to do that, we don't have. We rely on a piece of advice we receive from our immediate friends and close associates.
But alas, if yesterday wasn't fruitful as you had wished, why don't you visit the nearest bookshop and shop some books that cut across your line of engagement and put yourself through and stop relying on half-baked information from 'quacks'.
Whatever you are trying to venture in today has already been tried by someone else somewhere and some of these people that have tried it have made themselves generous by putting down their experiences on the pages of a book so you too won't make any mistakes. So today, to make the best of it, find a good and motivating book and read through.

4 Things that Kills Relationship and the 1 Thing that Keeps it Going

All hail Alphasoars!

Today we shall do a short post on the four things we have noticed that kills relationship and the one thing that keeps it on the move. Relationships per se, may not just be that of boy and girl. Relationships are the ways people and/or things get connected to one another. It could exist between lovers, family members, parents and their children, man and pets.

The best in life is being in a relationship that you love and that has grown with time. Finding oneself in a truncated relationship(s) is not always a good feeling.
The four things we have noticed are discussed below.

A past unattended.
In this write-up, we shall concentrate on relationship that has to do with lovers - married or intending couples. When two people come together for the sole purpose of helping each other to attain their individual and collective goals, they come with their different pasts. Many people tend to kill and silence their past lives. But do we really have to? I don't think so.
Why? Oh because, the past will be forgotten but can also be remembered. We remember things in the two state of mind we could be - happy or sad. When we remember things in the former, we tend to have reasons to keep the fire burning but when it is the later, we look for fire extinguisher.

How then can the past be attended?
Settlement, Round table! Sounding not too easy to the ears but that could be the only escape route to a vomited past because by the time it comes out maybe in the sad mood of anyone, the mess would have been cleaned up.

Thank You and Happy Birthday Google!

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Howdy all? We are having crises in Puerto Rico and other parts of the United States because of Hurricane devastation in those places. Our prayers are with those who lost fortune, properties and even lost ones. It will come to pass and blessings to those who have donated materially and financially for that cause and same to our people here in Nigeria that witness flooding.
2Baba foundation and other NGO are doing great work and God won't forget top reward their efforts heavily.

Today I just want to use this medium to thank Google for their gift to man and most especially me. They have helped me in a great way. They have:

1. Helped me through bloggers to air my thoughts out to the whole world without limitations whatsoever. While growing up, I used to be a 'good-introvert', always indoors. My opinion were said by me, for me and to me inside my room. But now I can come out to blogger and send them out for the general public's consumption.

2. Elevated my bored life in some sense to that of a busy person. Being bored because of lack of what to do is no longer in existence in my life since blogger will always give me something to do. Lols.

3. Helped me in learning how to write. I know my write ups now are not the same as the ones I wrote earlier on this BLOG. So the learning process has been fruitful, lols.

Special shout outs to Mr. Larry and Mr. Sergey for this wonderful platform. I wrote about them earlier on this blog some years back. You can check it out 'Partnership and Relationships'

And today Google is Nineteen Years old. So, in all I and other Alphasoars here, are wishing Google a happy birthday. They kicked their celebration with the Doodle's Google surprise birthday spinner game. Go check it out on their website.

Thank you and Happy birthday to Google.

The Importance of Water

All hail Alphasoars . . .

We shall highlight a few but most profound importance of water we have found. The importance of water cannot be over emphasized. The importance of water is what has made it a general commodity with a bold tag - No Man's Enemy.

In some few countries, good and clean water has not been at the reach of most person because of its scarcity. This could be caused by natural phenomenom or man made environmental pollution. In those places or countries, they drink whatever liquid they could find and at such risk shortening their life span as they invite disease causing organisms into their bodies.
Good and clean water is one which has no taste, has no colour and it’s free of whatever form of contamination. Humans through scientific research have been advised to take larger quantity of water on daily basis. Three areas we have found water useful is what we shall be discussing shortly.

The Only Place to Find God

All Hail Alphasoars . . .

Where is that place we can find God? Because it seems many people are having a difficult time locating it. Let us ride to see if we can get there - God willing. Shall we?

The only place to find God is not in your local church, your pastor books or even your religion. It is in a place much higher and greater than the Bible you read. So many people read the Bible, the get inspired from it and inadvertently commit themselves to the guidelines listed therein.
The Bible is 'too common' and therefore could be used by all and sundry. Whoever gets to a bookshop and demands for a bible will not be denied one because he is not a church goer or put 'properly' 'a Christian'.

The Bible reveals the way - The Word. It is through the Word that we find God. But where exactly do we find God? It is a question we can answer by carefully asking ourselves "Do I know God". Like Paul the Apostle, His main aim was knowing Jesus and not finding him because it is by the knowing that we could then Find Him.
Simply put, I want to meet someone I have not met before. I would need a clear description of whom and how that person is because by that when I come across him or her, I won't just pass by without knowing.

So the Bible, the Church is kind of a road map that guides you to God. But someone is asking me the difference between knowing him and Finding God.

Three Momentous moments in My Life I Will Not Forget in a Hurry

All Hail Alphasoars . . .

Happy new week to you. Today I shall tell you three incidents that happened to me that I may not forget in a hurry.

Car fire incident

It was November 2006 we have just finished the wedding ceremony of my elder brother and were returning to base. Boarded a taxi and was on top speed. I was young and have not been involved in any accident before. I almost slept off because of tiredness but managed to stay awake.

Almost twenty minutes gone into the journey, all we could see was people waving at us to stop the car. Our taxi has caught fire burning seriously at the bonnet and we never knew.
We got to know when we started having smoke inside the car and finally had to stop the taxi. Lo and behold, the car was on fire and we never knew.
We came out, and did I mention, my mother was in the car as well as one of my elder brothers. Almost a family oh and the devil want to use us that Ember or year ending to do Christmas.
We came out safe and put out the fire, hopped into another taxi and got home safely at around some minutes after eight in the night.

8 Awkward things worshipers do!

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Steadily we will soar, no matter the economic and political brouhahas that we might be witnessing in the country at the moment.
Today I want to talk a little bit about some eight things that are awkwardly awkward to me that worshipers engage in.

Sighing before praying.
I don't know why, but it seems so awkward to me oh. Your prayer leader will just introduce a prayer topic and tell everyone to pray, immediately before the prayer, you will just hear echo of sighs everywhere. Like seriously, who are you sighing for na? The person you are praying to is he the one that put you into any problem you are trying to pray on.

Shouting when praying
Some people will just start shouting like people who are quarrelling with unrepentant conductor. I wonder why it is so. The last time I checked, MY GOD hears even the most silent prayer. So I ask, do you have to shout. Let's say you are talking to your biological father, you are making a request then you start shouting, like seriously, will even listen to you if he doesn't even give you a resounding slap.

Giving offering when message is on especially when Pastor is preaching
I don't know if it is bad oh, but all I know is that the BIBLE tells me something very clearly in two separate quotations that 1. There is time for everything and 2. let everything be done decently and in order.
So I don’t usually get it when the person is praying and you are going to give offering. Is the offering meant for God or the Pastor?
I think Ecclesiastes has something to say on this. Read chapter five and the first verse. It says something like, "Walk prudently when you go into the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil".

How to Cure Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

Today I shall talk about Attention Deficit Disorder hereinafter referred to as ADD. What it is and how to most probably cure the disorder. Attention Deficit Disorder is a state of disorderliness in management of engagements. It happens when one is not able to totally finish any task he undertakes.
There are many successful people out there and if you take time to study their past history, you’ll discover that one thing is evident in their success story – they undertook many failed businesses. At the end of such discovery, we hail them for that, having gone into several business ventures and failed.

Some of these person could have made it in the first business pursuit they entered but they could not because they set a time-frame for their success and when it seems their time has elapsed they back out and pursue other forms of enterprise. What happens to sticking around till you make it? It might be longer than the time you have set but no, you want it quicker and this eventually leads you to having Attention Deficit Disorder. When this happens to you, it means that you have lost #focus.

What it (ADD) entails;
The individual does things haphazardly and undertakes multiple engagements and tasks without completing any.

Short Story: Wahala X Palava

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Let us tell a short story today. Read below!
*****
Audu has not been himself lately. He has lost his job and the signals from his home drags him back every time he was about to retire to his house after each unfruitful day’s adventure. For the very past few weeks, his chain of meetings had yielded nothing new to him except for frustrations and ill lucks.
His wife, Halimattu, has also had her own fair share of the forgoing and ongoing frustrations. In fact, the previous two nights, they had gone in without food due to harsh decision by her neighbour who sells food stuffs but refused to lend her items to prepare for the evening meal pending Audu's return from his journeys.

Chief Okanta has been faithful in advising Audu about how to go through life happy, lively and free but had never giving him any financial assistance. Audu remembers him and decided to try his luck today. He already knew full well of what Okanta always offers - unending advise and counseling.

"I have heard you perfectly Audu. Our relationship has lasted these past years, and cannot be despised no matter what. I won't bore you with another series of counseling since your disposition shows that of a dying hungry man in front of a hungry lion". Chief Okanta said after listening to Audu's tales.

"Oka, please just help me" Audu pleaded.

"Just so simple a task, Audu and I shall shower you with all you'll want in riches." Okanta started, "I shall give you enough help as I could but are you ready to do just a simple thing for me?"

"Anything, Chief"

"Alright, I shall give you financial assistance based on the number of wealthy people you know and have made friends with"

"Chief, you are sounding childish a bit, am dying already and you know it"

Airtel: Theft in the Morning!

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Our amiable President is back into the country. He gave some minutes speech earlier today where he addressed the nation on mostly National security and which has sparked outrage and fury from the opposition. They expected him to tell the country how he will turn the polity overnight but for crying out loud Baba went for medical treatment, he wasn't attending Harvard Business School or some seminar of some sort. Give him time. At least twenty more months, lols: D.

I talked about telecommunication networks in this post. But today I have to call out one. Every team wearing red has something in common as it is that atom of instability.
Manchester United FC has kept their red jersey intact but since last two seasons, they have been dancing around the premier league table, like, first today, tomorrow sixth and next the bottom of the table. But we keep praying for them so that the legacy Sir Alex Ferguson left them won't be dead and forgotten in a rush.

Yet Again, ASUU strikes Nigerian Students!!!

All hail Alphasoars . . .

I nor dey happy at all at all. Just learnt in the news that our own very Academic Staff Union of Universities alias ASUU have gone on an indefinite strike. This according to the memo they released, is on the basis that the federal government has not been able to implement all agreement they reached in 2013 during the administration of the past government.

It is very painful to hear that in a country as Nigerians, none of her graduates will boast of a hitch, strike free four years of study in the higher institution.
Our resources, if harnessed are enough to take care of these issues that are always arising. I don't see a country that wants to succeed but won’t invest in the lives of the younger generations through education and providing opportunities for these ones to basic amenities for their self improvement.

Happy New Month

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Happy happy and happy new month to you all. Like play like play, 2017 is coming to an end. The question we are asking ourselves is, What have we been able to achieve? The goals we have set for ourselves, which have we been able to accomplish.

Looking back, we consider if we have been on the right track after all or have we loafed in vain by just existing and not living our lives as we aught. So as you go about your endeavours this new month, be sure to race on the right track.

Let me serve you some delicacies for the new month . . .

Services not Retail trading is key to surviving the harsh economy, Entrepreneurs' watch!

All hail Alphasoars . . .

How has the soaring gone, I feel steady progress. I have been hearing that some of our Excellencies have gone for a London based sightseeing or rather inquiry based visit to the Abuja house in London.
Good-luck to Nigerians. I don't really know what our country has turned into. Which one do we believe, our president is healthy and at same time receiving treatment or our president is hale and hearty but he cannot speak to his countrymen on a televised live video call. I am not a politician for now and I don’t speak for or against any Nigerian party.

The only thing I have to say is that anywhere he is, if sick I wish him quick recovery, if hale and hearty, let the Airplane that took him there bring him back safe. Udo!!!

Economy is bad, has been the lyrics from the most populous song we have been singing for the past 24 months. The economy really has had its toll on all. It is like the adage about war, in that it is ill wind that blows no one good. Businesses have closed and institutions that cannot bear the heat have parked up.
For every, problem in life I so much believe that there is a fruitful solution to it. It is just a matter of Knowing (Knowledge) and approach (Application).
Source

We have had calls by agencies and pleas from the government for entrepreneurs to take over the economy as that will boost the economy and grow the country's GDP. That is however a fact that cannot be disputed. Entrepreneurship bothers on so many things and becoming one has got a lot of things to consider. As you consider yourself an owner of a business enterprise that either deals with goods merchandise or sell of services, you are already seeing yourself as an entrepreneur.

However, I have the following thoughts and contribution.

And if any man hunger, Let him eat at home!

All hail Alphasoar . . .

Howdy all. Hope everyone is having fun, knowing fully well that having fun and being happy is limited to a particular day of the week or month.
Today, we are at the door of our HealthCheck section. To our bachelors and spinsters, this post na for us oh.
Let Soar, shall we . . .

The greatest Apostle of the Bible, in one of his writings, gave us the post topic for today. At the time of writing his text, he was referring to people who come to take the Lord's Supper on empty stomach. He was advising them to eat at home before coming to avoid one or two reactions.
But on another hand, he was advising Us on a serious issue. An issue that concerns the body and soul. For us that are not married, we have one thing in common, Money plus Future. But we totally forget how to get money by taking care of our body.
Breakfast has been termed the best meal you could treat yourself with. And in the bid to get this treat, many people who cannot spend little time in their homes to prepare meals resort to patronizing road side food sellers. Like Paul the Apostle will say 'let him eat at home, it is highly recommended to cook your food yourself.

Hazards abound in taking in food that you don't know the type of environment it was prepared. Was the environment hygienic enough? So many road side food vendors do not take adequate care when preparing food the sell to the general public, so it is done anyhow.
A story of teenager who developed kidney stones and it was discovered he developed the complications as a result of constantly patronizing a woman by the side of his school for food almost on a daily basis.

Today, the main subject is eating at home. Being a bachelor does not entail that you must be buying food everyday from other people whereas you could actually take out some time and prepare yourself a great meal. With my little observations, |I have also found out that eating outside of one’s home could be an addiction. And when it thus comes to this, where it becomes an addiction, the health of the individual is going to be at a great risk.

Ijele

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Howdy all? Who else has been listening to the news lately? Our own dear Lai Mohammed, the Honourable Minister for Information and Culture has received many backlashes following his declaration that Nigerian trying to shoot their movies or music videos abroad will not enjoy a smiling face from the Federal Government.
"We cannot continue to go to South Africa or any other country to produce and then send them back to be consumed in Nigeria" was part of the statements credited to him on the issue.

I think the South Africa issue has got to do with the recently concluded Big Brother Naija that was hosted in South Africa which was supposedly a Nigerian thingy. Oh well, what do I know as regarding the entertainment industry. He has being largely criticized by the Entertainment industry key players.

My main talk today is not about what they are saying but something else I find very interesting and wish to share one or two of my views, still on the entertainment industry.

Some weeks ago, a popular singer released his album with title as mine. That's normal and overdue for his fans. Something caught my attention while browsing on YouTube and finding someone with name as Semah G. Weifur.

He has been a fan of the artist for some time now having in mind to meet him in person someday. it happened that earlier this year, the singer was having a tour in his country, Liberia. As his luck caught a better part of the argument, March 2017 he finally met in person his idol. He performed one of his songs live in the singer’s presence.

May 2017, about two months later he, Semah was in Nigeria to see his music idol. They had good moments. Funny enough, last week of June, the singer released his album and guess who was featured in the last track, Semah G. Weifur.

Designing for the Future

Design is the skeletal framework done by a designer that shows an intending structure. Of recent, many areas have inquired and adopted design abilities due to advancement in technology and science. The years are fast revealing many design varieties. We have moved from Pencil on Paper designs to 2D designs and then to 3D and so on.
These varieties of design have in time revealed to designers in different areas the ability to control an installation or a building before it is eventually built.
In this post, I will be focusing on buildings and architectural designs. So let us flow together. Shall we?

Source
Design technologies have made designing buildings and architectural edifice easier. With this, architectural designs, if not properly observed will adversely affect the property owners and the environment in the nearest future due to many facts such as climate change, modifiability and maintenance of such edifices. The future taken into consideration, the following should constitute decision making guidelines.

Idiosyncrasies of Social Media

All hail Alphasoars . . .

How has the soaring gone? I hope good.

Social media has gone from communication to confusion. When Daniel in the Bible said, Oh Lord, to us belong confusion of faces" (Daniel 9:8), I think he was actually referring to this age. The time where what we see in the media is either the adulterated or fake of the original.

I joined Facebook in 2012 (guess so). I never thought it was something used not only for information and message sharing but for show of whatever nonsense one have got (food, cloth, property). Is this the real reason why Facebook was created.

As the days go by, we find that social media channels are becoming funnier and dirtier. It has been a means of many social vices which might not be committed in actually sense.

Respect died many years ago since we can always sit at the back of our mobile devices and use our fingers and insult our elders without nothing happening. This in real sense has made the respect known in Africa to just die. Where elders talk in real life and little kids will never show face, on social media it is entirely a different ball game. Youngsters engage in conversations never meant for them. Social media has degraded decent social interactions.

My Country, How fah?

All hail Alphasoars . . .

It's been a while since our last post in here. I have issues that have been bothering me the past few days. The first one is that I can't find my president. The Nigerian president has been away for the past two months and no information whatsoever regarding his whereabouts.
I totally don't get it when our government cannot be accountable to the people that put them on the seat. Nigerian people are people that easily adapt to changes, no doubt. I think, that is why when they feel what they are doing is to the detriment of the people, they will still go ahead knowing the masses will in the long run accept it as their fate. Pathetic.

Secondly, our economy is not growing. What the heck is not happening. Empower citizens, they will not. Instead, they find two Keke, four sowing machine, three motorcycles and maybe some branded shirts and wheel barrows and they still has the guts to organise shows just to commission those silly item they bought for 'their people' and that also 'with the people's money'.
When you did a borehole and you celebrate. So you don't know you are supposed to provide water, electricity and other social amenities for the people. Okay, Ka'odiwazie!

It's Past Six O'clock

Time is really running fast and waiting for no one. I remember how I shouted Happy new year just 'yesterday' and then today we are half gone into the year.
Its past six already and we delivered some post on the blog. Let's check our diary . . .

January . . .
We wished ourselves Happy New Year here and moved on as America's first black president steps down for controversial Republican candidate. His last bow contains his last speech. The third post for January is a motivational one, SeeNoLimits and we left off discussing Diabetes, its meaning and prevention. Nigeria's political jamboree was discussed when we talked about A Likely Thunder.
In all, we had five posts for the first month of the year.

February . . .
I told you my blogging journey story when we talked about Blogging, the intrigues. I challenged all Alphasoars when we talked about Maximising 'the one'. We might have that one thing in us that might seem insignificant but when harnessed bring an explosive result. We then had the essay by Sir Alex Otti which was titled, Teacher, Don't Teach me nonsense. The next post was that of fun and humour, Please Come in Here lemme me epp you. Nigeria's telecommunication networks wahala was discussed and then Alphasoars blog listed its main objective and focus.

March . . .
Our first post sought to analyse home responsibility, we talked seriously about it here On Who Lies the weight of a house. The second is almost like it. It bothers on balancing a deficit relationship. So I ask, Do you know how to cure a deficit relationship?. You can know more from this post.

April . . .
The Big Brother Naija came to a close and one of the country's commentators had something to say. The post was written by Rueben Abati. Many people get inspiration from many places, both good and bad. I tried to expose the hidden danger in getting inspiration from addictive and dangerous habits here.

May . . .
Our politicians have not been helping at all. In this post we saw the backward state of our polity and the imminent danger we are been subjected to because of some persons selfish desires.

June . . .
Pretense is never good at any time, be sincere to people you meet around you and tell them how you feel. We talked about that here.
There is something about eating vegetables and pulses as compared to other things one might consider eating. We talked about that here.
Nigeria is got a good spirit, read here and find out about the spirit of Nigeria. Some person are too afraid to try new things, so I urged Alphasoars here to Please, press the spoil button. A controversial post went up here, where I was narrating about an act carried out in search of vengeance and revenge. Got some backlash though. Read that here.
Some folks go about their day to day activities with sad faces, they look forward to making connections but the can't. Read here and find why. The last post for the sixth month is the second part of the essay written by Sir Alex Otti. Read Here.

Teacher, Don’t Teach Me Nonsense –2

The second part of the essay by former governorship aspirant in the gubernatorial elections in 2015 in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti. Read the first entry here.
“The educated differ from the uneducated as much as the living from the dead” Aristotle (384-322BC).
“Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but cabbage with college education” Mark Twain (1835-1910)

We open the second phase of our discourse of education with two great quotes from two great minds. Aristotle and Mark Twain need no introduction. Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher and scientist, who together with Plato and Socrates laid the foundation for what is today referred to as Western Philosophy. His contributions cut across logic, metaphysics, mathematics, physics, biology, botany, ethics, agriculture, medicine, and politics. He was a student of Plato, who was in turn, a student of Socrates. He is often referred to as the father of logic. One of his theories that I like so much is called syllogism. Simply put, syllogism refers to a sound reasoning that says that “if A is equal to B and B is equal to C, then A is equal to C.” To Aristotle, to the extent that the premises of an argument are true, then the conclusions are guaranteed to be true.

Your Bluetooth is not Discoverable

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Happy Sallah celebrations, happy Eid to my Muslim friends. Shebi yesterday was sallah? and I was expecting some chevon or beef but alas I was disappointed. There is God ooo!!!
Anyways Happy holidays all.

I was on a taxi heading to my house. Those in the taxi were busy with boring news and dissecting what may never be. I quickly brought out my phone to play me some music.
Robert Kelly was giving me some tunes, bad as it may, my ear phones were not closer so the person closer to me was hearing the song playing. The person closer to me, A God Created Lady asked me to transfer the song to her. The available option was through Bluetooth. So we put on our Bluetooth for the transfer to take place.

We had to pair first. I couldn't find her phone as I searched for available devices. She tried same and same result. I now realized that the discoverable option on the Bluetooth settings was not activated. We had to select the option and then re-searched, paired then the transfer was completed.

How I Practiced Babalawo On a Friend

All hail Alphasoars . . .
How has the soaring gone. Budget is signed, can we see the CHANGE we've always anticipated or are we going to continue dancing the same song played by 'the blame game lords'.

If you grew up in the ghetto or rather in the village, you will have come in contact with some native practices. Some of which are spiritually propelled. Some ghetto lifestyle are propelled by the environment one finds himself. Many people who have lived in the village and later migrate to the city may not find the need to carry hoes on their shoulders and heading to the farm. This may be because of the absence of farming areas. That is why it is somewhat difficult to find babalawos in the cities, though today they have developed adaptive features that allow them to migrate to the cities without much discomfort.

Growing up in the village, I came to understand that what you what, you could actually get by any means you would wish especially when it seems the clear legal route is blocked. Back in the days, for our play group, we always have to challenge ourselves to tasks. Good one and equally the bad ones. We fight for superiority. I remember fighting my best friend when he seems 'to be growing wings' and trying to encroach into my territory. The most beautiful thing about the village is the 'life of adventure'.

You enter thick forest, with clear thinking that meeting an adder is inevitable but still, you keep moving especially when you are bound on a task that must be accomplished. Adventure and curiosity continued driving us till we figured out how to hit back on those that offend us.

Please, Press Spoil!

All hail Alphasoars . . .

Let's do a short post today . . .!!!

When was the last time you pressed the spoil button? Many people are too afraid, they never attempt new things. It takes only the adventurous minds to press the spoil button. Our Christian friends will not forget in a hurry what the wisest king said in his writings.
In Ecclesiastes, the third chapter and in the first verse he told us that "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"
I know some people will give me a nod but try to add exceptions. But I beg to disagree on the exceptions you are trying to invent. He said everything and that includes the good, the bad and the ugly.
Why people are not pressing the spoil button is because they don't want to make mistakes or attract serious queries from their superiors.
It is very very unfair to not press the spoil button because, the chances that you will continue to repeat a cycle is there. In other sense, seeing a spoil button means that it must be pressed now or in the nearest future. You will be trying to not make mistakes and by that, you avoid knowing 'how bad it is' to know 'how to make it good'. Inventors are people that that have made mistakes. People that have tried pushing the publicly known 'spoil button' and the not 'so known spoil button'.

The Spirit of Nigeria

All hail Alphasoars . . . !!!

It is rainy season in Nigeria. A time characterised by a high amount of rainfall that leaves the weather cool and wet. A season most despised because of the frequent rains and the obstructions it brings to all and sundry.
To business groups, it is mostly despised as it hinders the influx of customers who are in their homes finding shelter against the heavy and frequent downpours.

The weather affects the religious groups who hold outdoor gatherings. Due to the lower standard of electrical installations across the country, ranging from telecommunication mask to television base stations and even the electricity installations, there is a slight drop or most times, a complete outage of the services that these installations power.

The spirit of Nigeria is the spirit of courage and determination. A spirit that never gives up on life. Nigerians are found in almost every country of the world. They are super hustlers. Their tempo towards a given task is always that of winning, success and breakthrough.

Despite the economic downturns in the country, a firing spirit can be visibly seen at work in the hearts and minds of Nigerians.

The spirit of Nigeria is the spirit that never quits despite 'the little'.

The spirit of Nigeria is the spirit that dares political leaders to lead with carefulness.

It is the spirit that divides the red sea of drought to pull a multitude of fishes to the shore.

It is that spirit that wakes up an idea and carries on with it through actualisation.

The spirit of Nigeria is the spirit that spells 'ethnicity' with 'one'.

The spirit of Nigeria is a spirit that is consumed in immortality. It rings the bells of 'our heroes past'.

The spirit of Nigeria is the spirit that leads other nations, that counsels with authority, that consoles with soothing words, that preaches and practices true unity and friendship.

Arise, oh courageous soldiers,
Put on your armour, you builders,
Approach the enemies den,
For all their hisses, roars and growls of feign
Under our will, they must fall.

Happy Soaring!!!

"Prove thy servants . . . and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink"

In a hasty world, everybody is damn so busy. We consider important things last as long as the consequences are not going to materialize 'in a minute'.
Health is wealth, they say but we avoid the road to being healthy. A life consumed by stress needs twice of the time stressed to refresh. The Babylonian King sought him young men, fresh, sound, well able and capable (mentally and psychologically and physiological) to be his ministers. In other words, he was looking for healthy individuals.

The three Hebrews citizens, Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego were among the captives that were recruited for the kingly service at the palace of Nebuchadzer. They understand that their facial appearance matters too as well as their mental capabilities.
When they understood that the idolatrous meals been served were against their beliefs, they differed and begged to be served pulse and water. The Chief of Staff in charge of the recruits feared for his life (not his job because tyrants don't punish by relieving but by killing), he intimated them on the consequences of wearing a sad, long face before the emperor by not eating.

But, understanding the two food that the Hebrews demanded could have saved him of the sweat of analyzing all the cost and effects of abstaining from the palace meals.
Pulse according to Wikipedia is a plant or its fruit or seed in the family Fabaceae. Legumes are grown agriculturally, primarily for their grain seed called pulse, for livestock forage and silage, and as soil-enhancing green manure. We refer mostly to them as beans.
Pulse is rich in needed nutrients necessary for man’s growth. It contains a higher level of protein and other vitamins. A quick check, rates pulse as the highest source of plant protein. The protein content in a given amount of pulse is put at about 25%.

I Am OK!

All hail Alphasoars!!! How has the soaring gone? I perceive, 'smooth'.
Happy New Month. I want to use this medium to inform, remind and update all Alphasoars that my birthday is fast approaching and you'all know what's up, right? Lols.

It is June 11!

Today's topic is not about me though it sounds personal. I want us to look at ourselves and ask, and answer truthfully, "How am I".

It sounds so simple but when you look at it critically, you will discover its complexity. It demands a simple answer but requires an indepth analysis. Humans have through the time made themselves the worst pretenders. They give a reply to questions like this in so simple a manner. They give you the "I am fine" response while they bottle up the "I am not completely fine" symptoms by all means.

To give the 'I am fine' response, one must be completely sound Mentally, Psychologically, physiologically and Emotionally.
A complete analysis of your present state should tell you if you are fine. When you are emotionally disturbed and distracted, there is that higher percentage that you are going to be irrational in dealing with other people's feelings.
There are two things I found out that could make you not to be fine emotionally, psychologically, mentally and emotionally and I will also tell you how to handle them effectively.

Your Future is Marred and Your Life is at Risk

Doom doom doom!
Can you but spell it,
D - O - O - M, Doom,
Its meaning, brings heat.

Doors of Opportunities opened but Opposed by Man,
On the heels of each fateful day,
You have no option than to ask, How can?
and you, forgetting that man as gods also have the keys.

I weep for thee, Oh Spermatova,
For thy future has been sold for pennies,
Rest in thy haven before emergence
For want and drought has overshadowed the day.

I pray you, show me when you must come,
For with my blood, as mingled with water,
I will fight to unlock these opportunities, so locked,
For thy happy stay.
